June has been an incredible month for me at the shop. I’ve had record sales…(okay it’s only been 4 months, but a record is a record!) and I’ve made some great connections with local artisans to carry additional home accessories I’m so excited about! I’m learning I can’t do it all, and quite honestly…there are some people out there that just do it better, darn it! Exciting changes to come…
With a great month in sales also means empty space, so I’ve been working to finish a couple of pieces that have been on the back burner. One being this french style set of three nesting tables.
Here is the before shot. As I often do in my motivated state…I spaced on taking the picture before I got started. But the first two are how they all looked before.
I first painted a layer in French Linen by Annie Sloan.
Then I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the No.1, No.2 and No.3 in adhesive vinyl and placed it where I wanted the layer of grey (French Linen) to show through. I followed by adding a second layer of paint in Duck Egg by Annie Sloan.
Here you can see the before and after once I removed the vinyl… I like the look of the decorative details coming through as a layer underneath vs. a stencil where it is painted on top.
I distressed all three tables to show both the French Linen layer and down to the wood in other areas to create a great layered effect.
I love the color Duck Egg… Finished by a layer of clear and dark wax.
And here they are for sale at the shop!
